EDT- funny moments - snotting into my gloves or blowing my snot out onto the road and the bemused looks it gets from people! Really classy me!

I've never really paid attention to how people react to me doing it...but did once have a really sticky bogey which wouldn't flick onto the road...so i had to stop and wipe my hand on the grass :biggrin:

LOL! I try to wait for a clear stretch so no-one will see/hear me blow a rocket.

I'm just not that considerate..I don't have many clear patches on the commute so find the best time to do it is at traffic lights when I'm not overly concerned with the balancing! Mental note...must avoid snotting on cars...!

LOL! Anyone remember Cab's tale of that impatient/aggressive Merc driver at the traffic lights? Cab wasn't feeling too well and ended up doing a little vomit on the car's bonnet.

p.s. rockets are great for persistent tailgaters - they almost always back right off.

Highlight:
New bike - 2nd hand Peugeot Carbolite 101 to aluminium road bike.
Going clipless from flat pedals.

Lowlight - coming off in the ice this year. Although I did enjoy the adrenaline rush.

A month working ~50 miles from home, so having to drive, rather than walk.

weight down to 13st12lb from a high two and a half years ago of over 17st, feeling really lean and light, I've just nipped into the 'nomral' band of the BMI scale

umm, faster than I've ever been and enjoying the riding more than I ever have, my only regret was all the miles I used to do fifteen years ago on a junker mtb not knowing any better

Dunwich and some of the FNRTTCs

Highlights:

None for commuting - it's a dull route. But the Vatternrundan was good and hopefully I'll be adding a maiden FNRttC to the list by month's end.

Lowlights:

All in the last month - a deliberate dooring attempt and then my encounter with Fedex's own Travis Bickle.

My first year - so just doing a commute on bike was an awesome achievement for me. At last, a form of excersize I enjoy and serves a practical purpose. Lowlights - getting wet, getting sweaty, getting a flat - but worth it.

One thing I hate is people spitting in the street. Why do people snot from bikes?

maybe I'm a bit old skool but I think a genuine hawk is ok to spit carefully ino the gutter

I've had a slight cold for some time now and find a hard ride tends to me me bring it up, I spit that carefully to the left, excercise validates spitting in my book

rh100 it's really to clear the nose as my nose can run like mad - especially now it's getting cold-never aim at people/cars - if it's enough to be wiped off with the glove then fair enough but these days I seem to be particularly snotty!! Disgusting I know!

I'm so glad you've said that because I thought I'd started melting on my bike rides! There's just no end to it!!!!

Luckily, when it's at it's worst I'm cycling around London and having to stop at LOTS of lights so I always have a tissue in my pocket because I really don't think I could flash my bodily fluids to other road users! ;)

My main highlight is hopefully still to come... last year I missed my target for the year... and I'm just about still on target to make it to 3000 miles by the end of the year - under 300 to go now. Other highlights would be discovering new routes, getting fractionally faster, smiling at strangers and my expenses at the end of each month (which I see as treat money for me and the bike). And the snow I enjoyed - not the ice so much.

Low point would be breaking my elbow which caused a big dip in my mileage for the year that I have spent the rest of the year catching up otherwise I probably would have done my 3000 already.
