At the back end of a 180km ride on my lonesome I took the B road that runs from Abergevenny to Monmouth (for those of you that know the area) and i have to say the incessant hills (I'm guessing, mostly 10-15%) on that 15=20 mile stretch nearly broke my spirit.
Refused to push but was on my standard double with a 23 tooth on my cassette so it was tough. In fact on one hill I cocked-up the gear change and didn't find the lowest gear in time before I had to start step-ladderring up the hill. I nearly gave birth before i crested the hill ...and once over I did dismount to recover!!!
