Cheers Martin, how's it going yourself ? Did I see you had another off from your bike ?GWS Thom. Hope you re-arrange the ride once you're well as I'd like to do it and I wasn't available this weekend.

Thanks Mice, there does seem to have been a spate of accidents recently. Coming off your Turbo is something I think you always worry about when setting it up. I have visions of accelerating into the wall in front should that happen to me.OMG Thom - how horrid. You poor thing. Hope you make a speedy recovery. There must be something in the air at the moment - I (somewhat spectacularly even if I say so myself!) fell off my bicycle whilst on my Turbo Trainer on Wednesday. I hadnt rigged it correctly so 20 mins in, just when I was really going for it - Ooooooooooooooo... before I knew what was what I was crashing down on top of furniture. Luckily nothing fractured or broken (neither the furniture nor me) - just a swollen arm but it's getting better by the hour. Am hoping it will be ok for tomorrows "Flying Dodo's Northampton Ride". We shall see.
Glass in foot however sounds really painful. And also quite messy
It is absolutely no fun being unable to ride. You have my full sympathy.
At least we have a target though cos as soon as you are well enough I think there will be queue of us wanting to do this ride.

Sorry about that and to hear there's still hassle but I guess at least now someone else is dealing with it.Yeah. Damage thankfully wasn't so bad from the second one, the ped ended up with a nasty bump to the head though. Rib from the first one isn't really healing though. Going back to docs next week.
On the positive side, I've engaged Russell, Jones and Walker through the CTC to try to get my bike repairs paid for by the van driver (or his insurance)
TBH it's half hearted. Basically it happened, I hit the floor, it hurts, it's over. It would be good to have the repairs paid for but... it's unlikely I think. We'll see.Sorry about that and to hear there's still hassle but I guess at least now someone else is dealing with it.

I wasn't good at the date choice though because somehow I hadn't spotted the Northants ride tomorrow, but in any case the idea was to do some climbing prep before some touring in the swiss alps in a couple of weeks. It's not clear how that'll pan out now. If I get bored with this foot raising thing perhaps I'll set my turbo and try left footed indoor cycling as prep. Fortunately there is little pain but the blood splatter quotient was relatively high.
I hope your arm is going to be right for tomorrow. BTW, your sig refers to the innate happiness of pancakes. I do get a lot of happiness from eating them (a bit of lemon and golden syrup) but I'm curious as to why they might themselves be content.
Having trodden on glass and incurring not only a pair of stitches but also a pair of crutches, I cannot ride or run anywhere for a week or so.
So Mice & rb58, I afraid that I won't be able to do this, had your possibles turned into actuals.
Hmm... Foot up in front of the tv for the time being for me.
I shan't be around for the Whitstable ride unfortunately. At that point the tour would have me in Tuscany if all goes well. We'll see...Are you in the country for Whitstable?? 1st June?
It's just if a pancake was going to feel anything then I'd have thought it would feel a bit flat...You have worried me a bit tho' - are you saying it is possible to be even happier than a pancake?![]()
Let's just say Vibram Fivefinger soles are not resistant to bottle ends. How on earth did you manage that?
Oh, and Mice: never mind about that turbo thingaway, just get on your bike and ride it to somewhere nice!
