I don't believe that there is anything that is secure and lightweight!

If you manage to find such a lock and it doesn't cost a fortune, then tell me what it is and where to buy one ... (I rarely leave my bike unattended but occasionally on forum rides it is out of sight at cafe stops.)

Abus Granit X for me. Comes with a bracket for mounting. Neither light nor cheap but well regarded

Make sure the bike is insured and that the lock is compliant with the insurer terms

Fair point, I've amended the OP because I've found something that may be the answer. I think I meant portability rather than weight. Thanks.

The problem with those tiny locks is that you may be limited to what you can lock to. In that image he is locking just the frame to a Sheffield stand. No protection to wheels etc

@jefmcg has the hiplock that goes round the waist, decent kit but she still uses a kryptonite fahg in higher risk areas

Where are you leaving the bike, for how long? How valuable is the bike in monetary terms or indeed to you? If very, perhaps seek something else

The lightest lock out there that meets the Gold Secure standard is LiteLok (www.litelok.com). It still weighs 1kg however and costs £85, so that's a downside.
Thanks, I think the Abus Granit or the Hiplock in the original post video are my two possibilities.

True, the Abus looks the best. I'm ok at work because I either bring into my office or it's a safe place anyway. It's more for when in town and/or when touring. I've seen a cheap Abus online but no bracket to attach.

If attaching to frame, weight less relevant, just get the best. There are different shackle sizes for the Granit X, I think mine is the long one, a 54?

I'd be wary of any lock that's intended to be worn around the waist or on your hip. There are recorded incidents of people coming off onto such locks and causing significant injuries.
That was my reaction.

I also worry about riders who carry tools in their jersey pockets. Having an allen key hammered through a kidney as a result of a fall wouldn't be much fun!
