That Yeoman chaps delivery is first class!!!

There used to be a character who conducted the tours at Stirling Castle - back in the late 90's. Don't know if he's still there?

I hated our History teachers at school in the early/mid 80's so decided to take Geography "O" level / Higher. I feel I missed out though and like reading / watching history subjects now.

Impressive. But do you have a clog museum? ;)

Oh, I might have to put that on my list. I have an idea to tour Europe one day, visiting museums with a food theme, but that might sneak on. Only today I was made aware of the Stavanger Sardine Canning Museum.

Back 'home' in Leicester, we have the National Gas Museum. We always used to come out feeling slightly sick, thanks to the smell of gas....

We have museums in t' North, tha knows! ;)

True, and I do frequent them but the grouping of The Natural History Museum, The Geological Museum, The Science Museum and The Victoria and Albert Museum was 'home' in a way that even the British Museum and the Geoffory Museum, The London Transport Museum, etc coudn't be.

Love history, especially the last 100 years. Have been doing my own reading and research on The Troubles and of late the race-related riots in the US in the 1960's, particularly Cleveland (Hough Riots, Glenville Shoot Out, etc.). Latter came from initial research of the first black man to become Mayor of a large city in America. Marvellous stuff.

Aye, and I'm number one exhibit....

And well worth visiting for a closer examination, when ever she makes an exhibition of herself!;)

I did a tour of the Tower of London about 10 years ago and remember being very impressed by our Beefeater guide. Can't have been the same guy though.

I was fortunate to have two great history teachers at school, really enjoyed it and did well. The only negative was being made to watch a video about 19th century surgery including graphic details about how to amputate a leg. I nearly fainted xx(.
