The man, from Haslemere, Surrey, was found seriously injured lying in the road on the A286 at Easebourne at about 20:45 GMT on Friday.
He was taken to hospital where he died on Saturday morning.
A 21-year-old local man, who was driving a silver BMW, has been arrested for causing death by dangerous driving and other offences relating to the crash.
He remains in custody while the investigation continues into the circumstances, police have said.
The car has been located and recovered, officers added.
Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

The maximum sentence for death by dangerous driving is life imprisonment.

So here we have a 21 year old in a BMW arrested for death by dangerous driving. Along with other related offences. Possibly, no insurance, and drink or drugs being involved.

What is the chances he will get life in prison?

Whats the chances he will get 7 years?

It will be another one to watch. But if you get in a car drunk or under the influence of drugs and kill someone. I personally think the charge should be manslaughter with a lifetime driving ban

Sadly a death on the road seems to attract less of a punishment than a death through murder.

Odd, as drivers cant accidentally drive in a dangerous or negligent manner - its a conscious decision.

And dont start me on failure to stop...
