I've got bar end shifters, that collision would have damaged them, to say nothing of the flipping terrifying car zooming past inches away at silly speeds, to catch up with the traffic jam. I would find it hard to enjoy sex after that, also wind surfing would be too scary, settle for fifty thou cash.

It is possible that at the time you have a painful wrist / elbow from the impact that does not need following up clinically, but is enough to get the Police to take action at the time

Why didn't she follow the other car infront and overtake much earlier?

plod dont really care, mostly they are petrol heads as well. This officer didnt take the cyclists complaint seriously. He must have seen the helmet cam so even the 'lack of evidence' argument doesnt apply here, quite simply , like most drivers, the officer just felt that the cyclist is a irritation he has to tolerate but would rather not. He failed tp do his job as a police office by refusing to even talk to the cyclist who was reporting a clear hit and run incident, at the scene, with evidence. Outrageous plod.

If it's already been reported to the Police, my next move would be paying £3 on one of those number plate sites and getting the drivers insurance info and then letting them know that there's been a collision.

Just a "who shot John" argument between two road users about what he would regard as next to nothing.

He, the copper, had the evidence in front of him surely? The level of injury not so large as to prevent a chase down. The level of damage not so large as to prevent a chase down. QED the level of injury and damage were/are insignificant based on the evidence of his own eyes. The rider had it all on camera and could report it all to the police at his leisure.

And a cyclist telling him that the driver of a vehicle a few feet away was refusing to stop and exchange details, which is a criminal offence that needing dealing with there and then due to the very obvious risk that it was an uninsured driver who was likely to become untraceable as soon as she left the scene.

Have you tweeted the Met Police, with video, and asked whether they deem that response to be satisfactory?

It might sound funny, but making the matter public will engage the police quicker than a complaint via email would do - particularly if a few of the more vocal cyclists on Twitter get hold of it.

His attitude was almost as bad as the drivers in my opinion.

The police officer was presented with no evidence that a collision requiring the driver to stop had taken place. No evident injury. No evident damage.

How is the risk very obvious that it was an uninsured driver?
