Sorry that you were hit, TLC, but you should consider getting some lights that can be seen from the side. My Exposure Flash and Flare both have about 245 degree lighting and a head torch will light up wherever you are looking.

Yes, I have been teaching it for 5 years. I've been using Photoshop since 11. I then created a website to teach Photoshop through tutorials on YouTube.

glad you were not seriously injured get well soon .... on a more serious note if the helmet has a dent in it because it protected your head then chuck it in the bin and buy a new one because structurally it would not protect you in the event of another accident

It has no cracks, so it should be ok for a while until I can get a new one.

The cracks might not be visible but its up to you if you want to take the risk for the sake of £20 for a new one

Could happen: happened to me last summer.
a black taxi had parked (presumably for his tea break) amongst dense vegetation in a pedestrian precinct.
I was cycling on the lane parallel to the main road, when he decided to come out. No way you would expect a car to come out from practically behind the bushes lining a cycle lane!
On another occasion, MDB (a member on here) and I were cycling along a canal path when a car (water works maintenance vehicle) suddenly appeared from round a bend. The two of us made an emergency stop in the grass clearing, barely avoiding a crash.

I have very fast reflexes, but she just came out of nowhere into the side of me. I didn't even see it until I was on top of the bonnet.

'Ere, 'eres a funny thing; I don't have lights on my bike and I don't think I ever will have. Simple thing is, as much as I regard myself as something of a 'cyclist', I would never consider riding in the dark or in visibility so poor that lights would be needed. That's my tuppenyworth.
