It's no surprise to us in the industry.

Bloody shame. Soon the shops in the high street will be charity shops, estate agents and building societies.

From a news piece about JESSOPS

"The company posted a £5.2m loss for the year to January 2012. It also lost chief executive Trevor Moore, who quit to become head of music chain HMV, and chairman David Adams last year."

:B)

Whoops!

Spent my HMV gift voucher last week.

Just looked at the order I placed yesterday and all but 1 item has been despatched, good job the whole order was only £18 for 5 cd's including delivery not suprised they are going out of business. I got the cd's cheaper than I could get the MP3 download version for.

I was having this discusion with someone the other day and unfortunately internet shopping probably will kill most off the hight street non-food stores off. All people seem to use them for these days is to go into and fondle the goods before going home and ordering them on the internet, so if all these stores go out of business will it affect internet shopping as no one will be able to see goods before buying them.

I've got £70 of WH Smith vouchers to spend; I've been into two stores and still can't find anything I want to have. And I won them so they're essentially free

What a shame. My son likes me to take him to HMV when he wants to buy DVD's as they have such a huge choice. I don't think we have anywhere else in Oxford where he can see so much variety.
