HMV in administration - hope you've no vouchers!

I've got £70 of WH Smith vouchers to spend; I've been into two stores and still can't find anything I want to have. And I won them so they're essentially free

I don't understand the voucher concept. Here, have £70 worth of vouchers you can spend it in any WH Smith in the country. Or... Here, have £70 cash, you can spend it ANYWHERE YOU LIKE.

Not sure I could think of anything I would want from wh smith either I buy all my ebooks from amazon these days but dont tell anyone.

The only reason I managed to find anything to buy from HMV was because of the really low prices, so I bought a load of cd's I used to have on vinyl which will get ripped to MP3 then thrown into a cupboard.

Why didn't you buy/borrow one of the vinyl to MP3 converters? Or get a cable from the record player to the PC input socket and download the Audacity software for free?

Because CDs are better quality, at least unless you have a turntable more expensive than the average (and depending on your opinion, possibly even then). And that's assuming the LPs are pristine and not scratched up through years of playing
