Hi all,
I've recently re-taken up cycling a few months ago. I got myself the Decathlon Rockrider 5.3. Really just as a starter, and also to help me discover exactly where and what I like to do cycling. I went for an MTB mainly because I like to get off road as well as doing some longer distance cycling. I didnt want to spend too much on the offset.
I live down on the Costa Del Sol in Spain, near to Gibraltar. And as such I have a playground of mountains and tracks at my disposal once I head in land.
I've just started out really, but I'm finding myself managing to pull of some mileage pretty easilly. I usually only get time to head out once a week, and had a months stop over Christmas. On Saturday I cycled from the town of San Pedro up to Ronda and back. Clocked 102km. Not too bad at all.
I'm really getting into the idea of touring and doing some serious distance. So Im looking at getting a touring bike in the future. And then hopefuilly next year, becoming good enough to cycle from Gibraltar up to my home town in South Yorkshire where I'm originally from. I'm really really geared up to do this and very excited about it. I will of course do it for charity. But I want to accomplish something. A major challenge. So should be all good. I'll lurke about a bit. Im still very much a beginner though.
Cheers
