Thanks for your responses and apologies for multiple uploads of pics (first timer).

I intend to give it some TLC & ride it although am going to have to do something about the gearing. Possibly a 3x8 to enable me to ride it round the Chilterns.

Interesting read. I have just picked up a later Pro SL frame, still trying to confirm frame angles and wheel base, but as it has the under BB cable guide for both derailleurs I assume it is an SL model. Frame number 030047 which I believe to be from late 1980.

Pound to a penny the wheelbase is 38 inches and not 39  that and the design puts it more of a Classic SL than a pro, much more desirable IMHO

Well wheelbase is conclusive at 39" from front spindle centreline to the point where the seat stays would cross the drop out slots. (at 38" the rear wheel spindle would not be in the drop out slot) Can't measure the frame angles accurately enough as these are coming up at 75 to 77 degrees which is all wrong. With this and the non-cut out BB with under gear cable tunnels I think this makes it an SL which is fine by me, either would do, I was after a later 531 SL frame.

Had another go at the angles, still not that accurate but closer to the 74 deg than before. Also the rear stays measured up at ~16 1/4" which is probably close enough to the 16 1/2 in the description.
