Me and pete are on holiday in withernsea sands holiday park, what a lovely place, liking it that much we're staying another night. Yesterday we decided to cycle into Hornsea and go to Hornsea Mede, Pete set the Sat Nav on his phone and off we set.Took us just over 2 hours to get there, thanks to sat nav, it took us inland first so we finished up on a round trip. Coming back took us just over an hour. People kept telling us the roads are flat around here, No they're not, its all dips and steep little inclines .
We stopped off for s cuppa n cake in Hornsea, then found a wee bike shop just before turn off to Mere, we went in and would you believe it, it was mate of Pete's ftom 30 years back that run it.We then went and had a coffee beside the Mere, I couldn't believe how big it was.
Then off on bikes again to toddle back to site but by now my knee had started packing in, every peddle was agony for awhile, Pete kept asking wwas I ok I saidI was fine although I was getting slower but if I had stopped , my knee would have seized completely(I have had 2 knree replacemens on that knee within last 2 years.) Anyway we got through Roos and thought not far to go now, didnt realize I was coming up to the longest steepest windy road to get into town but I'm a determined bugga and managed it, Pete had to wait at top for me.All in all a very challenging but enjoyable day out.
