I have just returned from a short camping trip to Northumberland and while there cycled from near Seahouses to Holy Island and return. Not only was it an excellent day, but I had the satisfaction of achieving 50 miles for the first time in over 40 years. I have posted a short report & some picks on my website www.bootsbikesandbeer.weebly.com

Glad you enjoyed your trip to Holy Island. Great report - the insect is a Burnet Moth

Holy Island is a weird place

As a tourist trap it is horrendous on an afternoon filled with coach parties.....

Yet on a summer evening when the tourists are gone it is an amazingly tranquil and peaceful place.

But if you go on one of those days when the residents have decided to close everything for an island meeting it's a very bleak place indeed! Lol
