As a user of toe clips and straps I have had a lot of problems with the braided nylon straps that are commonly available these days. They seem to wear through in no time at all, particularly on the right hand side? The Christophe straps I used years ago seemed to outlast the buckles! I sourced leather straps on the internet, v expensive! So had a thought about it, purchased a good second hand leather belt from a charity shop, cut two straps identical to the nylon ones that I removed from the buckles. cut the old rivets out and riveted the new straps in with copper brake shoe rivets.
My point being, i am not very practical, but reading some of the posts on here is encouraging me to have a go at things like this, certainly saved me the price of £22 for a pair of Brooks straps!
