Well it's now that time of year when my lunch at work changes from sandwiches & salads to soup. I make the usual, minestrone, vegetable & I've got a nice spicy tomato recipe.
I made a new one for the week a red lentil, chick pea & chilli soup which tasted wonderful when I made it yesterday (I love a good hit of chilli, so put loads in!)

What's your favourite recipes, preferably ones with a bit of spice.

Without a doubt my favourite soup is onion soup, as served at a French bistro - Im not sure I actually want a recipe, it might spoil the romance.

Other than that, Heinz Cream of Tomato rocks my world.

Any old veges, including things like broccoli stalks and old cauli that's started to discolour, chopped up, fried for 10 minutes till they're soft, add stock, quick ziz in the liquidizer - done! Ok, not spicy, but tasty and nourishing and requires no skill or special ingredients whatsoever.

After a very garlicky one pot chicken, tomato, chorizo basil and olive bake, I use the stock in the pan to roast 6 - 8 good tomatoes, loosen up with warm water and blitz.

Great tomato soup.

I tend to throw whatever veg we have in a pan with some stock and a bit of broth mix - the lentils and barley stuff - then cook for a good bit.
The easiest soup I know how to make is roasted butternut squash and red pepper - simply roast the veg, blitz the veg with a hand blender and chuck in a good pint of stock. Takes about half an hour. You can do it with roasted tomato too.

Whatever is left in the fridge, whizzed up with black pepper.

There's never any vodka left!
