I find that hard to believe. To unscrew the safe, you need to open first.
It was a safe box that was secured to the floor via external metal straps and a padlock.

I have a yale alarm on my workshop that calls my mobile if it goes off . Its wireless and i'm pretty sure ive seen it for sale in homebase .
My workshop was hit alot in the early days and the alarm works well . The police asked me to get it to call them rather than me but i got a better police responce time if i told the operator "you get them before i do "

You know the old story.

Two guys camping in the forest, as they prepare to get into their sleeping bags one of them puts on his running shoes.
'What are you putting your running shoes on for as we are going to sleep?' asks his companion.
"So I can run away if a bear comes around during the night" he replies
"You can't out run a bear" says the first camper
"No, I only have to outrun you ..."

The moral of the story is just ensure your property is visibly more secure than your neighbours

You just need a dog that barks above its weight. Bertie had stumpy little legs but a terrifyingly deep and aggressive delivery.

Thereby adding credence to the old adage that dog owners end up looking like their mutts...
Refuting that would require several pages. Anyway, I'll start by stating that my stubble is ever so slightly less greasy.

Hi

Just found out a neighbour has been burgled, ipads, passports, jewelry etc.
Aside from locking the double glazed doors we have NO SECURITY.

No cameras, no alarm.

We live in a nice area, but we are close to easy access from the Motorway and London.

Easy pickings really.

Any suggestions on afforable solutions welcome, be it a paid plan with ADT or a DIY setup.

thanks

Yeah, yeah, but if you didn't know that, you would be care free............as you were...........

1. 2007 Got my garage broken into, 4 bikes & tools stolen. Thought about it, installed 3 led (battery operated) flashing lights in the garage door & rear window & house door, cost? Maybe a fiver. No problems since. The gits just move on to a non flashing led whatever.

2. Joined a police neighbourhood crime thingie, they email & text local crimes to you, to keep you aware........yikes, it was like I'd moved from living in a quiet suburb to downtown Kabul, scary! Of course, nothing had changed, so I unjoined and now I don't know anything, so as far as I know, nothing happens.

Decision made is.... Going to buy a safe which I can bolt to the floor. Sure, if they want the contents they will probably find a way eventually but if i can slow them up then great. Not getting an alarm but I might setup a Wifi camera so i can watch the cats try and kill each other.
