Think I'm going to go for it tomorrow. First day back, seriously missing cycling. Will leave the new (un-ridden) bike and go with the trusty old beast. I know how that handles.......

Must not race to work. Take it easy.

i am not back to the 5th and i am not holding out much hope of this weather sorting itself, my battle plan is slow and steady

Its been nearly 3 weeks for me, thought tomorrow I would be back on the bike, but got up this morning and the drive was an ice rink and there were car crashes by mid morning, can't see me getting back on the bike this week at all, weaher has gone crazy.

Costing me a fortune in gas for the central heating !

I commute all year round, just use the right bike for the right conditions and i find all's ok.
Skids and slips are rare. I've fallen off once, slid maybe twice in the last i dont know how many years. I think the fear is worse than the reality.
Caution, read ahead and i always (begrudgingly) use the hybrid if its slushy, snowy etc. I'll use the roadbike quite happily in icy weather, but stick to gritted roads.

yep, please do.

I'm looking forward to next weeks riding with a more suitable bike set up than before Christmas. Hope I still think that tomorrow.

Don't want anymore snow thankyou.

-4 here, setting out at 6 and sunrise isn't until 08:06 so will take it very easy. 13 miles so might take a while.

Stay safe all.

I think its set to get worse before it gets better.

The met office says that temperatures are set to stay cold, but not quite as cold as it has been over the last week or two. However, more snow on the way.

Likewise back to work in the morning. History tells me that I will probably need to walk the bike for a bit before I get to the gritted roads and then I should be fine until the last few streets at work. It is far easier to push a bike in snow than it is to push a car.

First ride tomorrow for over two weeks.

Cleaned, lubed and pumped (ooo eeerr ) the tyres earlier, so she's all ready for the first ride of the year.

Hopefully the snow in London won't be too bad on tuesday and the road will stay clear.
