i've got one and it works fine. like others have said, getting the perfect chain tension is a tad fiddly, especially with traditional nuts. no reason a q/r shouldn't be ok, in theory, but the experience of others may tell another story…

Horizontal dropouts also make things easier if you're running with mudguards on. There are different lengths of horizontal dropout and the shorter ones can make you a bit nervous with some combinations of chainring and sprocket, but are not a problem in reality.

Getting the chain tension right with a q/r and no tugs can be tricky, people resort to things like a block of wood wedged between tyre & seat tube. OTOH it's very easy with track nuts, just nip up the non-drive-side first then use the rim as a lever before nipping up the drive side.

I've not ridden fixed on QR, but SS is fine.
My new fixed wheel came with nuts.
