Bloody loud. When I have it on what ever bike, on the rare circumstances I need it it works. Maybe not so effective against traffic though.

Cheers, it looked relatively compact and was hugely reduced so I thought I'd give it a go as I find pedestrians on my commute are more of a problem than vehicles!
People don't seem to realise that a 15 stone bloke hitting them at 15-20mph on a steel framed mountain bike will probably hurt them quite badly!!

Lightweight ping bells are useless for use on pedestrians. Your traditional "brring-brring" bell works much better as a polite warning. Apart from anything else, it means "bike", which pings and electronic noises don't.
Having said that, the best I've ever had for making pedestrians jump out of the way was a few oily fingerprints on the rear rim, which allowed me to generate a banshee braking squeal without actually slowing down significantly (as used on pavement lemmings in Cambridge).

I have a loud gob. Works well, instantly recharges (unless at the top of a very big hill)

Me too, I've had one for years, and on a good week I don't have to use it. I also only use it on roads, and it's very good at attracting motorists' attention. I've also sponsored this Kickstarter project, for a bicycle horn that sounds just like a car horn:

Well I like the Hornit bike horn.
It's not a horn rather an extremely loud electronic twittering sound and I can confirm people take notice!
On the first day a car driver started to pull out on me and a quick blast stopped him sharply in his tracks!
The best are the schoolkids though who practically pap themselves !
