Horrible crash at peñalolen velodrome

So the team in green false started. The other team didn't hear the whistle for false start so carried on. Second rider wasn't able to avoid the starting gate (which was not removed as it was a false start).

Apparently the rider has fractured her femur.

No sound on this work pc, but surely there was a gun, not just a whistle, to indicate the false start?

What a balls-up.

The track marshals left the gate on the track in front of speeding cyclists, and one of the cyclists failed to see the red flag and the gate.

On balance, I think the crashed cyclist can feel a bit miffed with the officials.
