A long time ago, on this thread I wrote that I planned to do a Hot Air Balloon Flight.

On 13th October I finally did it, after many cancellations due to bad weather. We took off from the centre of Worcester, the Race Course at Pitchcroft for those of you who know Worcester.

Lift off was approximately 4.30pm on a lovely sunny day at the start of Autumn. Lift off was very smooth, and it was a large balloon holding about ten people. There was a very gentle breeze, so we floated over the centre of Worcester then out towards Powick and Callow End, to land gently near Upton on Severn.

I have put some photos in My Gallery. Although it was sunny, it was also a bit hazy at about 2,000 feet up. It was a wonderful adventure and I am so glad to have done it. I hope you like the photos.

Wow! The thrill of something I have often watched whilst on a bike, but never done - despite ejecting a lot of hot air! The moon is white - it's definitely not a balloon.

The last photo with what looks like a giant Polo Mint in the Balloon is the vent that lets the air out as you land.

I am not very good at loading photos, I could only put them in a post as thumbnails, how did you get them that big?

A bit high for me - I'm impressed. Imagine what the view over The Azores would have been though!

Nice pics Speicher. I think I see Worcester (bridge, Cathedral and Cricket Ground) and is that Callow End with the (ex) Nunnery?

You certainly had a good day for it. Did the Pilot let you take control? ;)
