Hottest day of the year...

So far.

20th of Feb 2017 we saw 18c here in the sub-tropical Thames Valley. Even had the 'door' open for an hour or two this afternoon. It would have been nice to have got out on the bike but alas, work has to happen.

Would have been a great day if you are cycle courier though, the first real bit of warmth and dry after the winter.

I want to know if the Daily Mail reported on 1st January that it was the hottest day of the year so far.

Wrong paper, the Express is the one obsessed with the wevver. They would have pictures of volcanoes, scorched deserts and everything.

The Mail would have a bevvy of posh totty jauntily splahing about in a fountain somehwere and sub article about bikinis.

Whilst the Gruniad would have an over wordy, probably important, but hellishly boring piece about climate averages with not pictures at all.

All I know, it was nice today, really nice.

My cousin lives just outside Sydney where the temperature has hit 47 degrees. He said it was so hot he could not touch the steering wheel in his car and people have been advised to stay indoors.
