Ha ha fair points. Our retriever was getting near that weight until sister in law (a vet) visited and in blunt terms told the wife that her dog was overweight. Dog has been kept religiously trim ever since!!Haha our Retriever must be about that weight
Yes ours had food reduced , she’s a fine size now !
We have had a Solar powered Battery alarm system for over ten years and I would never go back to wired. Every sensor is wireless so no alarm going off in a power cut and you just replace the batteries when you get a low battery warning. The other great advantage is that we have sensors in our vehicles and in the shed so if some scumbag breaks into them it sets the house alarm off. A real no brainer.....🤔
Thread resurrection, we are revisiting the house alarm situation. had an alarm guy come and as the system is way over 20yrs old, it's probably not worth fixing. I think I might just buy one of the smart wireless ones, however don't want PiRs, seems a waste. Door sensors much more useful as we have the dog. Will do a bit of googling for recommendations .

What are people's views about the ability to access the house alarm for anywhere in the world.
My view is that it is not much use and involved the data - including videos in some cases - being "in the cloud"
which means - for the non IT people - someone else stores it for you on THEIR computers
which you either pay them for or something
and the something will mean they are selling it to someone - hopefully anonymised but .......
and I really don;t think the Verisure ads showing people getting peace of mind by being able to watch the lounge all day while they are at work and queuing in the coffee shop - are in any way healthy!!
(sorry - verisure are by a long way my LEAST favourite ads on the telly at the moment!!!)
