How are we all going to keep 'commuter' fit.

I'm doing nowt. Both bikes have buckled rear wheels (broken spokes) and the mechanic from my LBS is off until January.

I was lucky, I got to the LBS before they did this morning, chucking it down with rain, when they turned up gave them my best smile and they fixed my wheel straight away. I think they just wanted the fat bloke to stop dripping all over the carpet.

I shall keep myself commuter fit by continuing to commute.

I have no work to commute to. Compulsory fortnight off for me I'm afraid. I'm off for a 50 mile round tripper to Sheffield one day next week. That should clear the cobwebs!

My cycling is very regular and I only have 150 miles left to reach my target for 2012. I average about 20 miles a day so I dont really have to worry about becoming unfit over christmas (going to put in an extra few miles over the next few days leading up to chrimbo).

I'll be doing a few 40/50 milers on the roadie over the holidays to keep my eye in and test out any new cycling gear I receive for my Birthday/Christmas. Also, me and my mate will be doing a gentle 25 mile round trip on our hybrids and stopping off for a few pints along the way...which is nice!!!

I shall be out tomorrow, then hopefully Christmas eve, then over to North Wales for a couple of mountains towards the end of the week, so hopefully my leisure cycling will compensate for lack of commuting miles.

Snowdonia. My mates parents live in Llandudno so will meet him there. Do you have any pointers for good routes in the area? I was going to head out towards Betwys-y-Coed, but open to suggestions.

I have a good level of fitness this year which I don't want to loose. I am having a few days rest so i am going to service the winter commute bike and true the wheels and chill out. I have a rowing machine which I am going to have a number of sessions on which I am looking forward to doing just for a change until after boxing day then back on the bike. Keeping up with the suppliments especially my own mix of corriander, ginger and cumin and not forgetting good old vit-c......Havent had a flu in 6yrs and colds are non existent. I am going to have a festive drink or two but nothing silly. If the weather is rubbish its the rollers and if its dry its the road.......All the best to everyone!

It is a nice ride down to Betws if you can do the miles and know the route. Some lovely hills involved. The roads are relatively wide from Llanwrst to Betws so you wont have much problems with traffic. Plus there is a lot of cyclists around there.
If you didnt want too many hills and a traffic free route, then you have the National cycle route 5 either towards Rhyl or towards Llanfairfechan.

Alternatively you could do a route with either Gavroche (lives in Conwy) or me. Gavy would have a better knowledge of that immediate area.

Its up to you but any route is nice in the area.
