How can Collisions in a network be reduced?

Hi.

Anyone know this? Doing abit of exam revision and cant really find much on Google, need to specifically know how Collisions in a network can be reduced, all I can think of is by using CMSA/CD but since everything already uses that there must be something else to help reduce collisions.

Thanks
Will.

Using intelligent hubs or switches will also reduce traffic on a segmented network as the traffic will only be sent down the "segment" of the network that the packet is addressed to.

What about sub-netting and VLANs, that should help too, again by reducing traffic over the whole network?

There's also CMSA/CA, which uses Collision Avoidance rather than Detection...

You do all you can to reduce unnecessary network traffic eg broadcasts.. erroneous multicasts... you use higher end switching equipment.. VLANS to segment and segment again.. any old crap such as bridges / hubs got rid of and ensure STP is smooth running
I should charge for this you know........
