No, joking aside, I have a Rockshock Recon Fork, but cant figure out how to make it stiffer ?

I can "lock " it out on the Bars (Far from being locked tho)

Ah Right, Im still a N00b when it comes to MTB's , I assume a track pump will work ?

Sadly no, you need a dedicated high pressure shock pump. You can pick them up from most LBS's or Halfords but they're a little pricey (IRO £30.00) but you can get some bargain ones on fleabay.

It's the same shrader valve, but the air volume is tiny and at high pressure hence the need for a very small bodied pump.

Is it the Air or coil version, I have the coil version with Turnkey, I have found depending what preload is dialed in , seems to control how stiff the shocks are if I have the Loc-out engaged, but mine have been very stiff from the very start, indeed it has taken a few hundred mikes to loosen them up.

Mine are the coil sprung ones, and the dial on the top of the left fork controls preload, the further clockwise, the stiffer the spring. There are about 15 revolutions available and it doesn't seem to make *that* much difference.

There is also a switch at the bottom of the right hand fork that switches between "hare" and "tortoise" and I assume controls the speed of the rebound, the hare setting is harder so I assume meant for quicker rides.

Lastly, all Recon lockout has a bit of travel - mine's typically about a cm although if I lean v hard down on the front I can push it about 40mm. This is in the fork design and is to stop it blowing if you hit something hard with the lock on.
