Other option is net curtain wire with the hook on the end - that is if you can bend down to do it and have a curtain wire ! Safest bet might be 'sink unblocker' from the super market. Slightly safer than caustic soda.

I reckon you could use an outer gear cable.

You could use what i had for tea yesterday,a lack of yoghurt got me an offer of fruit salad and ice cream.well this morning my pipes are totally empty,might just work on your drains.
