How do I down-load a U-Tube video and save it to my PC ?

On my Chromebook I can bookmark anything I want so it is always there if I want to go back to it.

The problem arises when YouTube decides to delete the original. Just saving a link to the original clip then doesn't work.

I downloaded a video from You Tube once, and it deleted itself from my HDD after a while. Copyright presumably.

I can save the link to any web-site or of any U-Tube vid in the "Favourites" on my pc.
Cycle Chat - for example
This works:
- As long as the site or vid is not deleted or does not change its URL
- As long as I'm in range of wi-fi that I can log into
The point of my question is for when these two requirements can't be used.
I've now successfully used "HD Video Converter Factory" to download three U-Tube videos in MP4.
I'm quite pleased with that - Given my limited IT skills.

Just checked. The two extensions on Firefox that I use are "Easy Youtube Video Downloader Express" and "YouTube Video and Audio Downloader". They are available on the "Firefox Addons" page. It's very handy to download cycle touring videos for later viewing with Beautiful Daughter: They're add free and I have control over what comes on screen...
