Oh the horror - look at the state of that bike. 
If you unship the chain, give the cranks a spin. If they spin freely without any crunching or roughness you are OK. I'd have popped the cups out/re-greased the bearings by now, but that's me.

It’s what happens to bikes without mudguards. Shortens life of components somewhat.
Just tried that, nice smooth and quiet when spun, so all good 👍

Then why can’t we see them in the photo? Can you do a wide shot of bike to put our minds at rest.
Those pictures were taken with the phone held directly below the BB. It was the bike equivalent of up-skirting.
