How do you draw a bicycle if you have never seen a bicycle ?

Received a card today which included the attached picture of a bike.

The forks are backwards, the front light is on the back of the mudguard, the handlebars are askew and the chainset is on the left. Apart from that it's perfect ! :becool:

That's what happens when you buy your bike in the pound shop:laugh:

That's the first module on the Transport Planners Multi-Modal Provision (pedal cycles and other human-powered vehicles) course. The subsequent assignment is to plan a cycle-lane at a roundabout, by shouting instructions from another room to the draughtsman, who is blindfold and using only wax crayons.

To be fair, the twisted handlebars and wheel could be seen on an abandoned bike, it's the light and the chainset that are actually wrong. Ah, looking at it closely, the chain wheel is on this side, but the chain passes behind the seat tube on the other side, before passing back to this side of the wheel. That's clever!

I wondered that Arch, especially as it's got flowers growing on it. But then I wondered if it wasn't just supposed to be someone delivery flowers?

Or are we analysing it too deeply?

Anyways, it looks similar to the kind of birthday card I still get from my Aunt, normally featuring vintage motorcycles or Spitfires and Hurricanes.

But there have been bikes with left hand drive train. Sheldon Brown had one iirc.

Well true, but I bet the chain stayed on the same side of the seattube as the chainrings, whatever...

You're right Rog, that fork is wrong too. Hoorah, there's a career in card design for me, even if I can't draw....

I noticed you had your post by 13-24.
Thats early as late as 14-45 round my part of the world.

This posting lark just gets worse. When i were a lad.First delivery had to be finished by 09-30.Back into the office for 09-50.

Spent zillions on offices and super duper management and delivery times are now the worst ever.

But not to bother the really high ups will get hundreds of thousands in perks.
