I've noticed porridge mentioned a few times, and wondered what recipe people use?.
Oats and other corns should be split/rolled/whatever and then eaten cold. Once you cook the starch the consistency changes and you suddenly have a bowl of the Devil's Nose Droppings.
So my grains are mixed with seeds, nuts, oddities like linseeds and psyllium seeds, dried barberries etc .... and eaten with enjoyment.

Porridge oats, water, salt. Bring to the boil, then lower heat and stir continuously until it's your preferred consistency, adding more water (or some kind of milk if that's your thing) if necessary.

Add any other stuff according to taste, class etc... since I'm in Canada, I add a dash of maple syrup. (If I am racing, I add hemp protein powder to the recipe - I am not saying it's nice, but it works - plus, some pecan nuts and dried fruit).

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Not to scientific with measurements, stick a load of oats in a bowl, add semi skimmed milk till it feels the right consistancy then nuke for 2 mins.
Chuck in a load of sulatanas
eat

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup raisins/sultanas, 1+1/2 cups water, bring to boil, stir, low heat 4 min, stir occasionally. Serve with 2+ tablespoons low fat greek yoghurt.
