Rude stuff is very difficult to translate. When I was at school, I used to swap rude words with a French schoolboy so my knowledge used to be quite extensive. Last year, at the end of a fun late night meal near a F1 budget hotel in mid-France, I handed over a credit card to pay. In French she said "Insert your PIN please". A flicker of a smile must have crossed my lips. We were both helpless with laughter very shortly afterwards. Ah, schoolboys.

Thanks for the link slowmotion. Seems like 'petit coquin' or 'petit rigolo' would be perhaps the closest, or at least the safest for me to use and feel comfortable with. I think you have to have a good grasp of a language and know how to manipulate it to be able to swear in a non-offensive, humorous way. I personally wouldn't risk it. Equally, I'd never try to translate a joke into French. I can be funny with quick, simple one-liners but nothing more complex.

Petit rigolo is certainly the mildest and least offensive. Mais, a la guerre comme a la guerre, chacun fait comme il peut
Trust me, I am French and also teach it.
