These internal pics show the 2 amp boards are actually quite small, the rest of the case is full of the transformer, power and output capacitors and heatsink for the transistors. they're only 45W per channel (into an 8 Ohm load)

The 2 amp boards are the square ones.

one advantage of this award winning design is the fact they are unconditionally stable under any load and are able to even stand a direct short or open circuit (no load) without damage. They don't even have output fuses

Plenty of room for a nice bit of modding!

The word 'hobby' makes me think of odd, pointless activities carried on by old men in sheds. On the basis of that definition, I don't have any.

Run your guitar through a good effects unit to give you that valve sound, and listen on headphones! (Take a look HERE for ideas.) :okay:
GNX 3000 for me. USB to the desktop, backing track on Youtube with the GNX set as default Sound system, headphones on and off we go. Jamtastic.

Before I got into bikes I was very much into shooting, shotgun and rifle.

Since I retired I have had far more time for it so it has seen a bit of a resurgence. In terms of enthusiasm it tops everything right now (well, did up until my op, but that's only a temporary blip)

Cubester is a good clay and rifle shot and we spent a lot of time over last year out and about. He shot for his Uni team up until his accident in November, and it's only really been since Christmas that he's been able to see well enough to shoot again, but we've been back out getting him into a position where he can compete again.

Shooting is a bit of a closed shop, and there are a lot of hurdles to jump in order to be granted a certificate for any sort of firearms in the UK. I always take time to talk to folk who have questions about shooting, and will always offer advice to anyone needing experience or help if I can. I have over 40 years of experience and some pretty decent kit. I was helped massively by a very good friend of mine, and we are in the process of starting a retail business to turn the passion into a bit of income.

I think it is easier to fit in cycling with a FT job as long as you can commute.
Hi @KnackeredBike

Unfortunately for me, cycling to work is an absolute none starter.
My job quite literally dictates that I drive to work, it's in my conditions of contract. I also have no 'fixed' place of work), no set hours & have to wear a uniform. Additionally I have no access to lockers or shower facilties, some places have semi secure but public bike storage but my commute could be from as little as 1 or 2 miles to 30 miles +.

It works for some (cycle commuting) but can't for others.

I must try harder on my days off.

Hope your work is paying you for your time travelling to work if you are a "mobile worker" in that case.

Yes, I get an essential car user allowance & mileage, the first 14 miles of each day being at my own expense + I have to pay 'business use' insurance rates + tax on the allowance which negates much of the allowance, that said, at least I am currently able to afford the car & bills etc, many workers are saddled with effective slavery these days.

There is something you can claim from HMRC , cant remember what it is but my uncle who worked for HMRC got my father 5 years backdated money, he was getting travel expenses of his company but still got a rebate from HMRC.
