how far do you commute?

I had 'Who wants to be a Millionaire' on the box earlier tonight, I wasn't really watching it, then one of the guests (a fireman) got introduced as doing a 27mile commute to work when he's on shift (that be 54 total), regardless of the weather it takes him 2 hours, chapeau.

Well he beats my 32 mile every shift ( I'm a firefighter as well ).

Since my Fire & Rescue Service here in Scotland recently signed up to the Cyclescheme, its amazing the amount of lycra clad fireys who have suddenly started appearing for duty every shift, on new bikes, myself included.

well I thought I was doing well with my 30 mile jaunt everyday and working shifts, I never been so tired

I've just started commuting by bike and it's 12 miles each way, first couple of times gone well so looking forward to doing it more!

I do a 50 Km round trip on the commute which keeps the legs feeling OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am pondering doing a 30 mile round trip in and out of uni basically cos I need the exercise, itll save paying for parking as well as looking for parking. I can park up right on the grounds with all the others. All I need is some good lights and maybe some rainproof outer wear.

7 miles each way, but it used to be 10 each way where I worked until recently.

Good thing is I can honestly say I havent driven to work for over three years now, unlike some of my co-workers

My plan to commute is threatened by the fact that I cant find the key to the lock which is on the door of the shed where me bike is!!
