How far do you commute?

It is quite amazing that sometimes even 5 miles each way seems daunting, but after doing it a few times and then doing the same journey in the car in rush hour or on public transport, riding it really seems like a lovely peaceful and relaxing thing - with cherries on top!

depends

door to door is 7 undulating miles: 22 mins in (more downhill than up) 33 mins home on a quite heavy hybrid.

but can be 30,40+ miles of meandering if its nice out I've got nowt to get back for and the kids are out.

Depends on the weather & seasons: winter commute is 13 + 10 km (I'm Eastern European, ergo, I work in the metric system :o), early spring and late autumn is 30 + 10 km; the rest of the year, I do 40 + 40 km, all 5 times a week.

6 miles each way for me and that takes me 23 mins there and 20 on the way home. Do have a longer 7 mile route for nice sunny days but the roads flood and at the moment too many potholes on them to contemplate!

It's either an eight or sixteen mile round trip for me, distances like this become second nature after a very short time.
Quite often I get home only just warmed up and ready for another twenty.;)

By the shortest route about 9 miles (one way) but I often take a longer route. Some days during the spring and summer the total distance approaches 50 miles- although that's usually only one day a week, two at most.

11 miles each way. Takes 50 minutes on the way in (at 6.30am) and an hour on the way home (in rush hour). It's not that I'm particularly slow, just that I have to cross central London. Last time I counted, there were about 70 sets of traffic lights to negotiate in each direction.

The only time I've cycled home at 11pm (when the road were virtually empty), it took half an hour
