In between here and there
802.11n can operate at speeds up to 600mb. 802.11ac can reach up to 1300mb.

I could hit 200mb plus on Wifi with Virgin before I moved.
Oh wonder why my laptop only hits 22mb yet cabled hits 200mb+ only one wall and 25 ft between me and the router

Download 1.01 to 1.65. Upload .54.

Depends on the router. For example some older, single antenna systems, use b. g and n on the same signal and drop back to the lowest common denominator when there is a number of devices connected.

Other things that affect it include neighbours transmitting their WiFi on the same channel, the construction of the wall despite it only being one, the software drivers for the WiFi card in the laptop not quite being fully compatible with the standard or other RF noise, e.g someone close by using wireless video senders.

I think I have most of them, I had tried changing to a higher channel it says I am on the 5ghz channel and on N. I think it must be the Router (Virgin Hub 3) and the sheer number of wireless around me and my house.

Puzzle game procrastinator!
I am only about 150 m from the local cabinet and so am getting about 15 Mb/s (Plusnet) over copper.

The cabinet is ready for fibre to be connected (plastic cable guide pipes have been installed along drains leading to the cabinet ready for the fibre to be fed through) but the connection date has not been decided yet; it should be within 12 months.
Er, now only 4 months!

Rejoicing in this house... after five years of long phone calls and wasted engineer visits and about four new Homehubs the engineer from Openreach who came today has found a small fault and given us fibre-optic speed broadband when for 13 years we've only had dial-up speed.
