How long before I claim 'works' clothing as my own

NHS issue is always the cheapest that they can afford so it doesn't last long enough to use when I eventually retire as it will have fallen apart.

A recorded letter giving a reasonable time say 14 days should suffice. I have used that time scale on numerous occasions and it seems to work for me.

You are correct. I cannot prove it is a uniform or protective wear. You also cannot claim tax relief of the original purchase of work clothing.
