It's a bit more complicated than that...
20 years come 1st October, all with the same company. In which time I've had four or five different jobs, and the organisation has changed (and is still changing) out of all recognition.

Started full time in July 1986, retired from full-time this year, so managed a few months under 30 years before jacking it in. Now I'm doing something on a zero hours contract, so nothing set.

Joined the RAF having just turned 17 on a 3 year engagement, left 28 years and 10 months later. 6 months self-employment before starting my present job just over 13 years ago. Been lucky.

Started with the C.E.G.B as an apprentice mechanical fitter in 1985. was at the RAE for a year before hand. So 31 years and counting
Moved onto the tools with a new job at the relatively late age of about 42, found what I truly enjoy, spannering.
If I never see anther ******* spanner again it'll still be about 6 months too soon:angry::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
edited to add I've been in operations for 16 and a bit years.

Started with a paper round while at school aged 13 (1978), then part time in the local bingo hall (worked my way up to main caller!) from 1981-1984 while in 6th form and then while looking for someone stupid enough to give me a full time job.

September 1984 - found that employer and they still haven't got rid of me.
