how long to switch

How long would it take a LBS to switch deraileurs and chainset and shifters Apart from other work load ? Would it be a couple of hours or a day or two

Couple of hours at most including things like recabling, new bar tape, new chain and cassette.

Sent a email to the owner and got a reply saying late monday obviously a lot of work for them atm

I'd expect to leave the bike with the LBS for a day or two unless they guarantee when they'll do it, mine doesn't for bigger jobs

So that would include "other workload".

For my LBS, I'd drop it off one day, and I could collect about 1 to 3 working days later. It depends on what they have on, naturally. I'm joining a queue.
In terms of how long it'll take them, probably up to 2 hours, but that's not really the question.

It's the sort of thing a home mechanic would easily accomplish between breakfast and lunch with adequate brew breaks included.

Its a couple of hours at most for an LBS when they get to the bike.

If it's booked into my LBS they normally complete the work that day and give you a ring back, but I have often gone for the drop off the night before so the bike is there for them first thing when they open up before they get busy dealing with customers that pop into the shop.

I once left a bike at a LBS while i was on hols got back and it still had not even been looked at , to be fair to them any other time they are pretty quick @simon the viking knows who im talking about
