Tyres.
I ride a Spesh Hardrock Comp that has rims size 559x18 doublewall. These came with the bike and had 26x1.95 tyres on. I want to change the tyres to slicker more puncture resistant options such as Nimbus Armedillos (26x1.50) or even Gator Kevlar Slicks (26x1.25)
Does anybody know how low I can go, for tyre size with these rims ?
Many thanks

You could go as low as 26x1.0 without any problems

Just make sure you fit thinner inner tubes. the current inners will blow smaller tyres off the rims

The general rule for tyre width is that anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 times the rim width is fine, so 24 mm to 45 mm - or 1 inch to just under two inches. Get narrower tubes to suit.

2 x spesh nimbus armadillos and 2 x 26x1.5 tubes winging their way from Evans as we speak. Bloody good deal actually , all heavily reduced.;)

Don't forget you're dropping your pedal height with narrow tyres.
Probably not a problem using an MTB on road, but if you're intending to use it off road as well it's something to be aware of.
