I reckon I've got too many bikes, 11 so far, but find it so hard to get rid of any of them. I've got the room for them and I generally use them all, obviously some more than others, so How many is too many? Am I the only one with 8 bikes filling the garage where perhaps a car should be and 3 bikes in one of the spare bedrooms that if sold in a oner would buy you a nice car! Are any of you Cyclechatters in the same situation? As Im curious to know whether I've got a bike fetish.

Four here. If I had to get rid of one, it would be the Condor- but that's paid for itself, metaphorically, as it was an invaluable back-up when the Viner was getting fixed (twice). And having been in the situation where I owned three bikes and didn't have one to ride, I'm not going there again....

Shortly at least one will have to go. It'll probably be the Universal folding bike plus the Ammaco may do if I can make it work.

I'm just going n-1, as my rockrider has got to the point where the repair bill isn't worth it. Two bikes fit in my flat, but my perfect number (for now) would be 3, adding a road bike to the hybrid and the tourer

Complete opposite here and completely jealous of you!
Live in a small flat, communal area is untrustworthy to leave a bike so I simply cannot get more than the 1 what I have in there now.

i have 2, was eyeing up another whilst buying my second though!! got my hybrid for blustery/crappy days (bigger tyres for cycle track work) and my new roadie i would love to get my hands on a mtb with disc brakes to see what the fuss is about! might persuade my brother to swap with me for a bit (he is asking to borrow the hybrid so looking hopeful!!)
I have 6... and it is too many in truth, not that I feel bad about it or am going to sell!
If I had to, I could easily whittle it down to 1. There's no doubt in my mind which bike I'd keep (the audax bike) even though each bike can be justified in terms of a differing purpose.
Oddly, the bike I'd grieve most over selling is the one I use least. It was my brother's bike and has sentimental value.

I have three at the moment and plan to purchase a fourth in April, that will be my last one due to space and having most eventualities covered.
My new bike will be a Ridgeback tourer, to be used as my main commuter bike, my current main commuter bike will be turned into a shopper by adding a trailer, my road bike is my "sunny day" commuter and my MTB is ready for the snow, which does not look very likely this winter.
