I remember an Ever Ready plastic front light falling off when I was cycling to Tottenham in 1988 and a car ran it over, but generally I dont lose too many.Lost or smashed the odd cycle computer though.

Ah the Ever Ready cycle lights...weighed a ton compared to yer modern LED lights. You would always hear it hit the floor with a thud and your bike would become much lighter lol

Lost mine on the tube on Friday  it was attached to my bag still and flew off when I was getting off the train, then I somehow kicked it underneath the train

That'll teach me for commuting by tube ;)

I lost a rear light on my property !
Got to my path, turned off Rear lights, walked up path through the gate round the back and when I got to the back door it was gone.
Looked all over for it but it was gone !

Very rarely lose lights on the road. I tend to lose them in the house over the summer. I put most of them away when they are less needed but come the darker nights, can I find where I put them?

+1. I've got £45 worth of front LED lamp knocking around somewhere, but where the hell she's put it, I don't know.;)

I have lost a few lights over the years, mostly Cateyes for some reason...

I think it's the noddy bracket. My no.2 headlight, a cateye, came off at a junction today but I got it back before it became a road fatality

When I mentioned it to the bike shop I wanted a new bracket as the light kept coming off... they just gently bent the bracket. Its been fine ever since.

Cut a rubber band from an old inner tube and slip it round the light and the bracket in a figure 8.

Another cheap source of rubber bands are postmen/women. Look on the road or pavement anywhere where one has been and you will find a little goldmine of red rubber bands....... apparently litter laws don't apply if you wear shorts on your round at 5.am

Me too. Lost a Cateye front light some years ago.

My MP3 player jumped out of my armband the other night but the head phone jack luckily stayed in until I could sort it out.
