just been having a bit of a tidy behind the sofa and found 15.5 pairs of shoes... there's 2 more pairs in my bedroom, and 1 pair on my feet, and another pair shared between the kitchen & hallway (as doorstops)... plus three pairs of slippers .I've had a cull and got rid of two pairs!!!

So come on... fess up... how many pairs of shoes?

Do we include trainers, flip flops and cycling shoes too, or just proper shoe-shoes?

It's good to have more than one pair of shoes. I can remember a time when I only had one pair and not being able to afford to replace them. Now I have two pair's of summer trainers, a pair of winter shoes. My steel toe cap boots for work. Two pairs of going out shoes. One pair of interview shoes. Wellies. Slippers that my late mum got me. And one pair of cycling shoes.

What I'm short on is trousers and clothes in general as I am no longer in a size tens. I'm off to buy some new clothes soon.

I have one pair of brown boots (currently at work form when I was commuting over winter), one pair of "hiking" boots which I wear in mud and crappy weather, one pair each of tan and black 'dress' shoes (neither of which I wear more than 2 or 3 times a year), 2 pairs of trainers (one for running/gym and the other for scubbing about in), 3 pairs of cycling shoes (one with look cleats, one with shimano spd cleats and one in a bag with no cleats), a pair of merrells (which I wear nearly all the time), a pair of slippers, a pair of slip-on sandals (which I have worn once this year when I was in Brighton) and a pair of Vibram 5fingers (not worn for a few years since I stopped running)

edit - and a pair of black wellies, one of which is split down the back, both of which have the lining hanging off

edit 2 - and a pair of winter cycling boots. Christ I thought I had very few shoes!!

Can't count as I'm not at home, but from memory:

Two pairs of steel toed boots, one at work, one at NT's
Two pairs of trainer type shoes, one for commuting on the bike, one for walking about at the weekend.
A pair of Merrell sandals.
A pair of riding boots
A pair of wellies
A couple of pairs of flat canvas sneakers
A few pairs of 'posh' shoes for interviews and the odd occasion when I wear a frock.

Of these, I wear the steel toe boots daily at work, and either the commuting or weekend trainers the rset of the time. The others get used about 5% of the time, if that!

Hmmm. Thinking a bit here.
2 x pairs of flat work shoes
1 x pair of 'hiking' type trainers
1 x pair hiking boots
1 x pair of slippers
1 x pair of crocs (red)
1 x pair of going out boots
1 x pair of shoes with heels (Clarkes, v comfy)
1 x pair of Lake road shoes with spd cleats.

Oh, just discovered my green wellies. 1 pair.

That's only 10 pairs of various forms of footware! That's shocking. I must have more shoes/boots than that. I'm a woman!

Actually there are 3 pairs of boots and a couple of pairs of shoes in storage in Inverness. We moved from there last year and haven't got around to going back up North to rescue our possessions. Probably going to contact a courier and organise a back-load.
