Johnsie - +1 for listening to Ian Anderson on Radio Scotland. His programme turns up some really interesting artists and songs.

I liked Wogan for mornings and I could tolerate Evans in the evenings, but he's too full-on for the mornings so I will be one of those who is seeking a new morning radio station for the drive to work.....

Tried R2 this morning - don't think I will be going back there again. The music is just not my taste. I seemed to be listening to the musical output from X Factor - sacharine, sweet and bland.

That's my experience too. Every so often, I put R2 on in the lorry if I'm bored, and it never lasts more than two minutes. I think the reason Radcliffe and Maconie annoy me so much is that they seem to be under the impression that they're playing interesting cutting edge stuff, whereas in reality most of it is bland garbage. (Glas Vegas, anyone?) If there's nothing on R4 or 3 I might put my ipod on, but by and large I prefer to just listen to the engine when I drive these days.

When I first heard that Chris Evans was taking over the breakfast show I thought 'Good news, bad news'. Good news that Wogan was leaving the breakfast and bad news that Chris Evans was leaving the Drivetime.

I think It is much better now, Breakfast is fun and Drivetime is good.
Wogan was borderline racist with too much childish inuendo pretending to be humour and he had the intellectual intelligence of a bedbug. And he was boring and loved the sound of his own voice way too much to be healthy.

I really need to stop listening to radio four and the shipping forecast. I think I have a problem as I've been out at sea only a couple of times in my life! :-/

I love the shipping forecast aswell for some reason. Especially if it's the posh sounding female presenter. Seems very relaxing somehow, especially at night.
