I've nothing serious planned last week saw me drink three pints on a night out and thats about comfortable for me these days and I can go weeks or even months without a drink; alcohol doesn't really excite me now.

As much as I fancy. I won't be driving at all following shoulder op but I actually don't drink that much over Christmas itself, probably a couple of glasses of champagne and a couple of glasses of wine on the day. I'm out tomorrow evening, maybe a couple of pints as I have to get myself home. Pain levels might dictate too

May I just point out that you can drink alcohol without ending up with a hangover the next day.
If you're doing that regularly, you're doing it wrong.
And you can also drink beer one night and go for a bike ride the next morning.

Christmas Day is already scoped out.....

In the morning....coffee...cos my Mum is staying and she'll start tutting if I have a quick sharpener

Other relatives arrive....buck's fizz
Relatives start getting on my nerves....maybe open the red wine
Lunch served...got a magnum of nice Argentinian Malbec to work through. May get some help with this
Cheeses.....vintage port....MiL will tut as I have a wine glass full of it rather than those ridiculous little port glasses that nobody in Portugal uses
Digestif....25 year old cognac
Probably have a couple of tins of really nice beer in the evening

Do a hard hilly ride Boxing Day to offset
