How much booze will you be having this Christmas/New Year?

I've only got Christmas eve, Christmas day, Boxing day, the 27th and New Year's day off, so not as much as quite a lot of you! Also I've a low alcohol tolerance - 2L or 4 pints of lager/cider is my maximum before I have to stop.

We have the Vicar and his family over for Christmas and last time he was around he finished off me single malt. So whisky, mixing rum, sipping rum, asti-bubbly, red wine, white wine and a couple boxes of beer. Maybe some Bombay and Chopin just in case the neighbours show up. Should do for this weekend. New Year's is a whole different game.

So not so much "more tea vicar"
Rather " more Talisker vicar" ?

The only time i drink alcohol before 10 pm is on Christmas Day and when i'm at a funeral. I don't think i'll be going out on New Year's Eve,so that night i'll have only have a little more than my usual evening quaffing limit.

None for me, because I don't drink alcohol.
But I made a German white wine custard for Christmas dinner dessert :hungry:

None at all. I chose to give up booze in 2012, or rather my body decided to give it up for me!

It wasn't that I drank ridiculous amounts in one day - 5 pints had been my limit for about 20 years. The problem was that I drank 5 pints almost every day for about 20 years ...

I would quite like to have the occasional alcoholic drink but I always seem to end up back on 5-a-day, and that wouldn't be sensible.

So ... enjoy your booze you lot - I'll stick to chilled sparkling mineral water with OJ!
Simpson?;)

Hopefully not much as I'm planning to cycle from south London to Bucks on boxing day to catch up with another side of the family. Hopefully there won't be too much headwind from the storm!
