How much for a special treat meal for two ?

Was rather gobsmacked by an office conversation the other day in which one of my colleagues was recommending a restaurant for a special treat meal. How much was it ? £500 for two !
What's the most you've ever spent on a meal for two and was it worth it ?

For me I've gone up to £100 including tip on a couple of occasions, both at the Mountview Hotel in Nethy Bridge. And yes, worth every penny, very nice indeed !

Not far off that amount. For our 10th wedding anniversary. Michelin star restaurant. All the bells and whistles. But a lot of the money went on a couple of bottles of top class Champagne. It was worth every penny.

maybe £100 for two, but the more you spend the more likely you are to be somewhat disappointed as your expectations rise to match the price
Don't do the fine wines thing, at least not at eating out prices

I tend to not enjoy meals out as I know I could have done it better at home (and Maz agrees with me, often saying when she has been out with the girls that she used to work with that "Its wasn't a patch on yours" )

Forty quid. Sunday special at Yo! Sushi. That included soup and a drink. That's the most we've ever spent on a special meal for two.
