How much is this bike worth i’m not sure whether to buy

I have seen this specialized enduro elite that is missing the back wheel and i’m not sure whether it’s a good bike or not the man reckons it’s an expensive bike,opinions?

Depends, it's pretty old, and do you know what condition the susension is in as it usually costs a fair whack to get them serviced properly. it was/is a decent bike, but it's quite old.

That's a good 20 years old. Suspension is full of little bearings, forks are straightforward to service though. Unless it's in superlative order I wouldn't give much for it, and with a missing back wheel I'd want proof of ownership before paying a penny.

The rear shock is compressed - I'd want to know it's holding air as repair/replacement isn't cheap - that's if you an get a shock to fit an old bike.

Indeed, I’d be asking some awkward questions about it. Actually I wouldn’t, I’d stay clear of it , it looks suspicious.

Previous owner chained it by the back wheel? Can you think of another reason why it would be missing?

I’d avoid, without a back wheel it looks very dodgy.
This is a 2005 Specialized Enduro Elite, nearly 20 years old!
Lots of stuff that could require work and expense.
Rear shock looks compressed (see image).
Front fork looks to be the wrong way round (see image).
Without a wheel it’d be difficult to take for a test ride!

Today, couple of hundred at most.

Guessing they are Manitou forks as they look to be on backwards (given the disc is now on the drive side)

Yep, the fork is on in the Halfords style (ie backwards). Another indicator that this is coming from a clueless home.

You're not going to be able to make money selling bikes if you don't know the first thing about them. I'd quit now whilst you are ahead personally. Also you run the risk of getting into trouble if you are selling stolen ones
