Just come home with a Grauniad. Tedious stuff has gone straight in the recycling: all the leaflets, sport section, work section, and family section. I probably won't read review either. Guess I'm not the only one who bins half of the paper without reading it!

I don't by papers at all. Pick up the Metro for a read at lunch/tea break.

I get the Telegraph voucher scheme, so get a paper everyday.
The Saturday paper sorting system is: DT, Weekend, Review and mag are keepers, Sport gets the occasional look in - everything else is straight in the recycle bin.

Have just whittled down the Telegraph to the Sport,TV and Main sections. The rest goes straight in the green bin. Within the retained bits 4/5ths is rubbish but I get a discounted rate for paying in advance so it's just about tolerable.

Same as you domd; Saturday Telegraph then The Observer or Sunday Times tomorrow, half in the bin immediately in all cases.

Personally I still think less than two quid for a lot of interesting, considered, up-to-date and intelligent reading (mostly!) is good value on a weekly basis.

It's a bit more complicated than that...
You're missing out by binning the Guardian Review - it's got Doonesbury every week, and the cover essay (today, Will Self on Roald Dahl; last week a Douglas Adams hommage) is usually worth a read.

I haven't bought a newspaper since the mid eighties having made a conscious decision to pick up radio news instead. Then along came John Humphrys to steadily ruin that! For years now I've been able to flip open my laptop and anything important will soon be obvious (and plenty that's not important too)!

Yeah, The Guardian review is really quite good. In fact The Guardian on Saturday is one of the very few things I miss now I'm not living in the UK. used to read all of it over the course of the weekend. The Globe and Mail is okay, but I don't think enough people appreciate just how good the quality British press (and The Guardian in particular) is...

There's not much left of my Guardian after I've passed the recycling bin.

I always read the main paper and the review. For some reason I skim the money section, but I don't know why. And I keep the Guide, keep the glossy bit too, but rarely read much of it.
